Luther Allison – Cancel My Check – Songs From the Road (Ruf Records) * Recorded live in Montreal, July 4, 1997 shortly before his death in August of 97.’  CD/DVD set with bonus tribute to Luther on the DVD. Just released by Ruf Records.

Super Chikan – Fred’s Dollar Store – Chikadelic (BluesTown Records.com) BMA song of the year nomination for this song and album, also best traditional Male Blues Artist and BB King Entertainer of the Year.

Eric Bibb – New Home – Booker’s Guitar (Telarc Blues) 2010 release, this track featuring Grant Dermody on the harp.  All of the other tracks just Eric Playing solo.  Tribute to Booker White, great blues legend from the 1930-1940 and then again resurfacing during the 1960′s folk/blues revival.

The Nighthawks – The Chicken and the Hawk (Up Up and Away) – Last Train to Bluesville (Rip Bang ripbang.com) * recorded live and acoustic at the Sirius/XM Studios – just released.

Alabama Mike – Something On My Mind – Day to Day (JUKEHOUSE records) Vocalist Alabama Mike featuring some real nice piano work by Chris Burns and RJ Misho on the harp.

Al Broussard – I’ll be Glad When You’re Dead You Rascal You – The Music of a Lifetime (Rabadash Records) recorded live on Bourbon Street at the 711 Bourbon Club, circa 1984.  The late Al Broussard was on fixture on Bourbon Street for years and years in New Orleans.

Bobby Charles – RIP Feb. 21, 1938 – Jan. 14, 2010.  Louisiana Singer/Songwriter.   Bobby Charles Guidry AKA Bobby Charles – writer of hits like – Fat’s Domino “Walking to New Orleans”, Bill Haley and the Comets “See You Later Alligator.” and Clarence “Frogman” Henry’s “But I Do” Age. 71 after a stuggle with diabetes and cancer.  Recently completed an album called Timeless which was co-produced by Dr. John and dedicated to Fats Domino.

Rosco Gordon – Sit Right There   – Rosco Rocks Again (JSP Records) 2009 release of live performances from 1982 & 1991 featuring the piano/vocal Memphis Legend – the Late Rosco Gordon.  He is immortalized in the Sun Records Museum with a great picture of his rooster on his shoulder.

Earl Gaines – 24 Hours A Day – Nothin’ But the Blues (Ecko Records) 2008 release, featuring the great R&B Vocalist that just passed away at age of 74.  A regular on the Nashville R&B scene and most known for this song, also titled “It’s Love Baby.”  Great comeback record in 2008 for Ecko Records.
