9:30pm: Doc’s Basement  – The Music of Lowell Fulson – featuring the Chess double LP – Lowell Fulson – Chess Masters

Lowell Fulson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, March 31, 1921, of Indian decent on his guitarist father’s side.  He grew up in a reservation in Oklahoma.  Lowell started playing guitar in 1938 and his professional career launched from there.  In 1954 he joined the Chess record family and put his unique blend of blues out there for the whole world to hear.  Lowell Fulson passed away just a few weeks shy of his 78th birthday, on March 7, 1999.
